The Social Inclusion Games (SIG) will be held in Enschede, The Netherlands, for the second time from Sunday 29th July until Saturday 4th August 2018 thanks to a grant received from the European Commission.
Information package participants
This information package should help you to prepare for the Games at the Diekman Terrain, in Enschede. This is SIGN’s second time to host the Games. We are very excited to come together and make it a week that you, your clients and your organisation will never forget! Please read through the following pages carefully to be sure that the Social Inclusion Games is an event you and your organisation is ready and able to participate in. We have provided ample information and tips for getting you and your people to Enschede. This will be a busy week for all of us. Our days will be full of sport and our evenings will be fun. We will create a positive, collaborative and inclusive space over the course of the week, to make sure everyone feels invited and worthy. There are 1500 participants and around 100 social workers coming over from over 15 different countries.

Om de games tot een succes te maken, zijn wij op zoek naar veel vrijwilligers! Je kan ons een middag, dag of zelfs de hele week helpen, van alles is mogelijk. We zoeken enthousiaste mensen die de handen uit de mouwen willen steken en ons willen helpen bij allerhande werkzaamheden.
1500 participants from over 15 European Union countries will take part in this unique and Olympic like sports event. Every participant, regardless of their social status, age, gender, race, (juridical) background and other characteristics, is given equal opportunities.
The games will include sports such as football, volleyball, climbing, athletics and many more. We all know that sports are good for your health and are fun. It also contributes to social integration, team spirit, fair play, enhancing social inclusion and gain positive experiences.
The Social Inclusion Games are organised for your clients and social workers. The games will cost €45 per participant. The fee will cover meals, sports activities and a camping place for the week. Please note participants should bring tents to camp in. Part of the travel cost is also available for reimbursement.
